Daily Poem
“Letting Go”
by Katie Rose
In getting old
life becomes a series of mini-deaths
piece by piece
layer by layer
finished and over;
cutting the cords
opening the fist
a stepping away
into a steady practice of surrender
living its own unique I AM
each aging leaf, dry and brittle,
maybe still bearing a dash of color,
falls alone in the sky;
not heading for extinction
but a new design and purpose.
there is peace in knowing nothing is ever lost.
How could God lose
any of herself?
